Back by popular demand; learn the traditional art of drum making from Sts’ailes First Nation member Darren Charlie. Under Darren’s guidance each participant will create their own drum. The drum has always held an important place in the culture of the local First Nation people and Darren will talk about the importance, philosophy and etiquette of the drum.

STEP DANCING WORKSHOP

Join Dominic Desrochers of the group Bon Debarras to learn some basic steps of traditional French Canadian step dancing. Desrochers is one of Quebec’s finest step dancers and a sought after teacher. The workshop is designed to allow ordinary people to develop motor skills in their feet and to tap their toes to Quebec’s traditional music. It is based on the rhythms of the reel, which originated in the British Isles and was later reclaimed by inhabitants of New France and modern Quebec

CRYSTAL SPIRIT SOUND HEALING

Using Crystal Bowls, Gongs, Tibetan Singing Bowls, Aboriginal Hand Drums and Voice, Eliz Mueller and Cheryl Redfern create an ocean of sound that tunes and balances the nervous system, entraining it to the Common energy source. In this workshop you will experience the use of sound for vibrational patterning and alignment, exploring and using sound as a healing modality. This workshop is rich in experiences and information as well as bringing you time-honored sacred sounds from different traditions.

YOGA ON THE BEACH

Join Spirit Yoga for Yoga on the Beach each morning of the Festival. You will be guided through a series of Hatha Yoga postures suited for all levels of experience.
Location: On the beach across from the Memorial Hall. Bring your mat.
