Rachael Ashe is an emerging multi-disciplinary artist, who is self-taught in mixed media altered books, paper cutting, and paper engineering. A graduate of the Creative Photography program at Humber College, she works from a small studio in East Vancouver, British Columbia.
Rachael recently completed her first corporate commission for Vancity Credit Union, as well as her first paper-engineering project, for which she created ten full-sized musical instruments for the latest video of indie band, Current Swell. Much of her recent works have been explorations of freehand paper cutting and folding techniques focused on the repetition of shape and form.
The Spirit Trail
The Spirit Trail is a short walk (1km) through a wonderful piece of west coast cedar rainforest on the east side of Harrison Hot Springs. The trail gets its spiritual feel from ceramic masks and faces that artist Ernie Eaves has placed in the trees along the trail.
Ernie became involved in ceramic arts soon after his retirement as a high school teacher. He has a small studio in his garage that he shares with his artist wife, Irene.
In addition to the Festival’s visual art exhibit, another visual art exhibit is being presented
in conjuction with the Harrison Festival.

We aspire to be a key destination during the Festival for people who enjoy viewing visual art in a quiet, relaxed, and comfortable indoor environment. Our exhibit features a variety of local and area artists and artisans working with various media. As the exhibit host, Harrison Gospel Chapel encourages creative expression as it sees artistic inspiration a component of God’s creative spirit.
All are welcome to attend our annual Faith and Art Sunday worship services on Sunday July 7th & 14th, 2013 @ 10:30 am at the Harrison Gospel Chapel. These services will focus on the intersection of faith and art. The exhibit will be open for viewing immediately following the services.
