The Harrison Memorial Hall is the Festival's indoor concert and
theatre venue seating 242 people on a raked seating system. Seating is
general admission and the box office, in the Hall lobby, opens one hour prior to
each performance. The Hall is located on Esplanade Avenue one block east of the
Plaza.

guitarists. We hate name
dropping but how can you avoid it with these guys!
Geoff Muldaur
An icon of the 1960s & 70s music scene, Geoff Muldaur is still going
strong. Bob Dylan calls him the male Carolyn Hester (the early folk legend who
put Dylan on record for the first time), and he is one of Bonnie Raitt's
favorite singers. "His
new record reminds me of why I fell for this guy in the first place"
says Maria Muldaur. English guitarist Richard Thompson says
"there are only three

Amos Garrett US born, and Canadian raised Amos Garrett has for the past 40 years been the
go-to guitarist for folks like Stevie Wonder, Bonnie Raitt, Anne Murray, Maria
Muldaur, Ian & Sylvia, Paul Butterfield and close to 200 others. Guitar Player
magazine calls him Aone

Shake your world to the Indian Groove! The goal of Dilvog is to bring Indian
music to the world. By fusing the Bhangra beats and other Indian elements with
a traditional western pop song structure and production, the songs become
accessible to a worldwide audience. Dilvog, aka Dal Hothi, is considered the
top Indian/mainstream crossover act in Canada and has a strong following in
England and the US as well as throughout the Indian Community. Dal says

WATERMELON SLIM & THE
WORKERS After 30 years of struggle in an indifferent music industry, Oklahoma
City based Watermelon Slim is
"the
coolest new name in blues".
Slim's first paid gig
was at age 18, he was the first veteran to record an album during the Vietnam
war and has worked with blues legends like John Lee Hooker and Bonnie Raitt,.
During the hard times, Slim pursued 'other agendas'
such as field hand, watermelon farmer, trucker, teacher, conspiracy
investigator, activist and in his own words
"budding career criminal".
Slim says "I'm
a late bloomer. Suddenly I have a great band, a great label, a great management
team... I'm almost

evening of Jazz, Java and the Written World. The Arabic word
'Adab'
is used as the word for literature. Adab literally means
'to invite someone for a
meal', and implies
politeness, culture and enrichment. Montreal poet, songwriter, playwright,
photographer and activist Ehab Lotayef will be reading from his works and
presenting a slide-show of his many trips to Iraq.
Vancouver's
Elen Ghulam will read from her book Don't
Shoot!... I have another story to tell you: Tales from the life of an Iraqi
Canadian Woman about her experiences living in the Czech Republic, Kuwait,
Israel and Canada.
One of Canada's
best known Arabic singers, Maryem Tollar, has written music for the
poetry of her uncle Ehab Lotayef and will perform these works throughout the
event with her ensemble of talented Toronto musicians.

A hilarious series of snowballing phone calls between two women planning a
surprise party and the woman who wrongfully assumes it’s for her. Performed
entirely in its original French language, with English subtitles.

Ten idiosyncratic characters amuse, move, frighten and shock, always speaking
from the depths of their souls. A compelling collage about contemporary women
in all of her warmth and majesty, her fear and frustration, her joy and sadness.

his recordings and live performances. Bill was raised in a musical family in
rural Alberta. When he was 2 years old, he was known to sleep behind the piano
at country dances while his parents'
band played. A mainstay on the international roots scene, life on the road is
reflected in Bill's
music - powerful rhythms and soulful songs, steeped in world beats, Cajun,
Celtic, folk, flamenco, funk, poetry and more. Bill is joined by Flutist Aysha
Wills and singer/songwriter Laurelle.

DONNÉ ROBERTS BAND
Donné's full name is
Rakotomamonjy Dieudonne Roberts, born in Diego-Suarez (known as the city of
salegy music) in Madagascar. He moved to Russia as a young boy with his
diplomat father and started guitar at age 9. He formed his first band at age 15
and became well-known in Russian show business, becoming the first black person
to host a one-hour show on MTV Russia. Since moving to Canada, Donné became a
member of the all-star African Guitar Summit, whose debut CD won a 2005 Juno
Award. He played at the Live 8 concert in Barrie Ontario and released his solo
CD "Rhythm Was Born"
in 2006.

LOS MUÑEQUITOS DE MATANZAS Considered the
"ambassadors
of rumba," this Cuban
folk group was formed in 1952 and recorded their first album in 1953. The group
is primarily known for its exquisite and authentic interpretation of rumba and
its three variants (yambu, guaguanco and Columbia), and
includes a repertoire spanning numerous Afro-Cuban genres. Los Muñequitos have
toured internationally and recorded a number of seminal albums, earning a Grammy
nomination in 2001. The group includes three generations of musicians and
dancers with an array of instruments, who maintain their link with the past
while exploring contemporary forms like hip-hop and breakdance.

BEOLACH Beolach (a Gaelic word meaning 'lively youth')

most exciting young bands. The group performs an energetic mix of Cape Breton,
Scottish and Irish tunes featuring piano, pipes, whistles, guitar and two
fiddles. Beolach has thrilled audiences with spirited performances, witty
presentation and versatile step dancing. The band features Wendy, MacIsaac, Mac
Morin, Mairi Rankin, Patrick Gillis and Ryan MacNeil.

FLAMENCO ENSEMBLE
Now
based in Toronto, Jorge Miguel's
family is from Cadiz, Andalucia the birthplace of Flamenco. Jorge's
style is full contact, hard-core. Alegrias, Bulerias, Tangos and Sevillanas,
the traditional songs and dances passed down through the generations have
developed and grown for hundreds of years. The arpeggios, rasgueados and
alzapua of the guitar, the escobillas, zapateado and ilamadas of the dancers,
the cante jondo and chico of the singers join the palmas, castanets and
percussion to drive the complex rhythms. This is true Flamenco, proud, complex
